I have had a nice, long weekend here in Malaysia Borneo, I am so content right now đ
We girls have split up for the day. I have been sleeping and reading all morning and soon Eric, the host of our hostel, is coming to pick me up to join the rest for lunch before we end the weekend with a visit and dinner at one of Borneos old and famous longhouses.
We arrived in the city of Kuching on wednesday night. We wanted to get a look at the city after checking in at the hostel but because of Merdeka (Malaysias independence day) the city was so crowded that we didn’t manage to go anywhere. So we just took a coffe and went back home to sleep. The next morning Eric drove us to Bako National Park where we stayed untill saturday.
Bako was amazing. So beautiful and calm.
On thursday we went directly on a loop-trekk. It was not more than about 5-6 kilometers, but it took us 3-4 hours to walk it through cause of all the climbing, the narrow pathways and the steep stairways. We were all soaking wet because of the heat and the sweat and also the heavy rain that poured down on us for almost an hour. But it was so f…ing nice! I loved it! And to jump in the shower afterwards and getting some warm food and a coffe…mmm đ
I was so tired that night, but neither me or Hanna could get much sleep as the monkeys in the park where all over the place making noises and freaking us out…haha…
On friday we went on a shorter trekk to one of Bakos fantastic beaches. It was a bit to climb down, the view was undescribable, the beach was almost empty and with the sea calling for us I ran down the last bit and finlly threw my self in the water. We spent the whole day lazing in the sun and swimming in the sea, I was totaly in heaven as I always am when I am close to the sun and the sea đ At the end of a day we took a boat back to our lodge and we all were in bed before nine.
Yesterday we went our separate ways when arriving back in Kuching. The other girls went to explore the town and I went with Eric to Kuchings famous cat-museum, as I am a sucker for cats that was just perfect! Mum – you should have been there with me đ Afterwards Eric drove me around town telling me about Kuchings history and so. I really like when people do that. Gives so much of themselves to people they hardly know just to make them happy đ
And yesterday night I met up with the girls and we went to a place called JUNK at had an incredible dinner: lambshank, red wine and good drinks! Jummy!
So all in all I must say that that this weekend was a big success! Now I am looking forward to the next one as Victoria is coming to visit me. I love weekends đ
And I love you!
Lots of hugs and kisses,T.
