Allt for att slippa oss…

Finally we where on our way to the paradise-Island again.
We took the boat to the mainland (Kuala Kedah) and from there a taxi to Alor Setar, where there is a big bus-terminal.
We had no chance of arranging bus-tickets from Langkawi, so we had to take a chance that there would still be tickets.
We where shown to a ticketbooth and asked for tickets to Perhentian (Kuala Besut). The man who worked there said they where all out of tickets to Kota Baru, Terengganu, which is close by and that the only thing he had tickets for was Kuantan.
He told us that we could take a taxi from there for one and a half hour and pay about 15-20 RM.
I asked him to show us where Kuantan was on a map, but he didn’t have any map. He assured us we would be able to fix it this way.
After some thinking and talking about it, we decided to buy the tickets. He again assured us about the taxi.
We went to get some supper and after that I went to get my Lonely Planet to check where Kuantan is.
Well Kuantan wasnt even close to Kuala Besut, and we would be forced to go with the bus to KL and then up to Kuantan.
I took the book and walked to the man and explained that he sold us the wrong tickets. His colleague was also there and all he said was ”no refund”. I explained again that Kuantan wasnt even close to Kuala Besut and showed them on the map.
The first guy told us to wait and then he went. That was the last we saw of him in a long while.
We talked to the girl in the booth next to this and she was able to fix us tickets for Terengganu, so he lied to us straight in our faces.
The second guy took up his two phones every time we tried to talk to him. He also told us to stay there and then went off.
I followed him and saw that he just stood outside. When he saw me he started walking the other way and went in to the booth again. I followed him there, since we had our backpacks in there.
Ann-Marie stood on the outside of the booth and took out her phone. She told me that maybe we should call the police, so she went outside to find out what the number was.
I told the guy that either he gave us the money back or we would call the police.
As soon as I said the word Police, he took up his phone and cal the first guy, who came back in no time.
A-M came back with the police itself, and all of a sudden we could get tickets to Terengganu. What a surprise!
We explained our situation to the police, and showed him on the map where Kuantan is and where we wanted to go. He talked to the guys in the booth and then we said we wanted our money back instead of tickets.
The money came to us in no time.
Well now we had some excitement on our trip and we handled it rather well we think. 🙂
We got tickets from another booth without any troubles, I might add.

The trip went well but the toilets wasn’t the most fresh ones I seen. It was tin-sheds and didn’t smell raspberry…We are getting kinda used to that now tho. 🙂

At 8 we arrived on Long Beach and Lemongrass again!
Our hut wasn’t available yet, so we took our sarongs and went down to the beach.
Well well, there we saw Filip sitting at the diving school. We knew he was at Perhentian but not where he was staying. Fun!
After we talked to Filip for a while, we went to sleep in the shadow on the beach.

At 11 we went back to Lemongrass to check in and then met Anna, who was our neighbour the last time. She must have thought she was dreaming when she saw us walking there on the beach. We just left the Island a few days before. 🙂
Anna was our neighbour again, good for us!

The week was totally wonderful with a lot of sun, baths, a bit of partying and some more tan.
We spent the whole week with Filip and Anna.

The last evening we had dinner on Panorama where we watched a movie. All of a sudden I hear the girls at the table next to us screaming ”Spider!”.
Since it’s not my favorite animal, I became really scared, turned to them and asked where, where? but cant get any decent answers. All of a sudden I see it on the table. It’s big! and I don’t say that just coz I don’t like them…It was.
Ann-Marie, that isn’t afraid of spiders (but of mice and rats, which I’m not. Talk about complimenting each other. :p) took one of those drink-umbrellas and took the darn spider outside.
She is the hero of the day I’ll tell you.
This was my first real contact with a spider of bigger shape on this trip so I guess I can call myself lucky. In a strange way. :p

Friday evening the 4 of us went to KL with the night bus. The trip went smooth and we found accommodations almost right away. We live at Red Dragon in Chinatown. It’s 50 RM per night for a double room, and theres both fresh toilets and showers.
They also have a TV-room with a projector, DVD-player and sofas, so we can chose movies and see it whenever we want. Cool. 🙂

Today A-M went home to Sweden but will be back the 14th again. I will go to Singapore with Filip, probably on Thursday.
Anna is going home to Sweden tomorrow…

Now some sleep…
Hugs to you all!
