Update…

Sawatdee kha! Sabaidee mai kha?

We are fine 🙂 Spent the last weekend in Phuket, it was nice to get some time off from all the careing, huging and feeding…haha…
The first night we stayed at the On On Hotel in central Phuket town, a cheap and quite alright place (only 280 Bath for a doubbelroom with two beds and a bathroom). We got do some shopping and then we went for a beer and a pizza, NICE!
The second day we checked out early from On On and went to the postoffice to ship some stuff back home, we both packed to much…as always… In about a month it will be in Sweden, just in time for Maddes arrival back home 🙂 After the postoffice we had a well deserved breakfast, you would not belive how good it was to eat a sandwich in the morning compared to the sticky stuff that we get up here. We tried to find the market that we read about in the guide, but we got to say that it was a big dissapointment compared to the one in Bangkok…small and smelling… so of course we got tricked in to a private taxi that promised to take us to a better one, wich he did not… once again we found ourselves in a BIG FUCKING JEWLERYSTORE…hate it…erveryone just gather around you and show you all this beautifull jewels, and both you and them knows that you are not going to buy any of them…in one store Madde bougth 2 pillowcases and in another one Trine bougth 3 toerings….hahahaha…we felt like idiots…thank god for the souvernier department they have in a small corner in each store! But we did a good deed though since the driver got some stamps in his ”free gasoline stamp book”.

After all this exciting shopping we went to Bangkok phuket Hospital so that Madde could get her last vaccinations. The hospital looked like a 5 star hotel, it was so nice. The nurses wore white short skirts and high- heeled shoes and took very good care of Madde 🙂 It cost a boundle though, but it is better to pay with a smile than to get sick in the jungle (old jungle saying)haha…

At last we could head up to Central Karon Village were we were going to meet Laura and Sarah, of course we stopped at one jewlerystore more 🙂 Well we got to the hotel then and it was beautifull, but expensive. Madde took her negotiationglowes on and got the price down 600 Bath – NICE! So we got a BIG and BEAUTIFUL and CLEAN bungalow with 2 beds, HOT SHOWER (HALLELUJA)and an oceanview! The hotel also had 2 swimmingpools and a spa, we LOVED it!
We were exhausted after all the shopping and after a long week up in Thai Muang so we just had dinner and a drink with the girls before we went to bed. Watched one and a half movie and then we passed out!
The next morning Madde was out of bed at 8, we went fore some delicious breakfast and then we went straigth to the poolarea and stayed there until four o clock. Trine got a bit red, but who cares…it was so nice 🙂

PiDom picked us up about half past four and we went to his house in Surin beach in Phuket. We got to meet his family, ate dinner and went for a walk at the beach. This beach is now called ”lucky beach” since the tsunami did not affect it at all. Strange though since the rest of the beaches in Phuket was badly hit.
PiDom is also building a new house in Surin beach wich he his going to rent out to tourists, about 50 000Bath for 1 month during the highseason (october to april). But we will get a good price for our selves and our families, and maybe our friends too 🙂 Wich is great since we hope to go back to Thailand at christmas!

Yesterday, monday, we mostly played ”burnball” with the children in school. After school Prani took us to see the tsunamis distructions in Khao Lak, and we can only tell you that it was TERRIBLE and HORRIBLE! On the rest of the island you can hardly see that there were a tsunami, but here it was very…we have no words. It just got to us real hard. All of the hotels, houses and bungalows near the beach was crushed and mostly washed away. We could still see personal belongings lying around… and about 500 meters away from the beach there was lying a big policeboat, to heavy to be dealt with at the moment. The constructionwork has begun, but it is mostly the local peoples houses that are finished. Also some big hotels were quite finished, but it will take a long long time until Khao Lak is restored.
Prani says that it is not good to go swimming in the ocean at Khao Lak because it now more is a big toomb… so you can wonder if it is best to just leave it alone or not…
It were some tourists there, but we guess that most of the ”farangs” (foreigners) are working there. All over the place you could read signs that said ”land for sale”. It is hard to describe the feeling we got seeing all of this…it is certainly something else than watching it on tv or reading about it in the newspaper. You feel so so small…

Well, over to something more joyfull 🙂 We are currently staying in our own house, that is Keowtas house but she abandoned it so that we can stay there! But PiDom was so sad when we left so we have decided to go back to his place on thursday and spend the last night there 🙂 Madde is certain of that she will cry loads and loads on friday afternoon, and if she does so are Trine (she cries a lot…hahaha(in a good way)).

This afternoon we are going with the girls (our workingmates that is)to somewhere…maybe a waterfall but we are not sure, plans changes quickly here and over our heads! We are sure it will be fun either way!

Mamma: Takk for mail, jeg skal tenke pĂ„ alle de tingene du sa. Ska som sagt söka hjĂ€lp, om inte annat gĂ„ in pĂ„ en foto affĂ€r och fĂ„ kortet brĂ€nt av pĂ„ CD. 🙁
